Dream Hunt and Mark V Accumark or Ultra Lightweight
Garrett Good, Nampa, ID
“My dream hunt would be sitting with my father on the top of an Aspen covered ridge waiting for a magnificent bull elk to stick his head through the trees for a brief moment as he lets out a bugle to rattle the mountains. I would like the opportunity to place my scope on his huge shoulders for that once in a lifetime shot. My heart would be pounding and the feelings of anticipation running through my mind. That would be the perfect dream hunt. I would like the opportunity to take this dream hunt with my father. If there has ever been a greater man in this world I’ve yet to meet him.
As a child my father worked two or three jobs at a time to make sure he and I lived in a decent neighborhood. He sacrificed everything he owned to make sure I always had a good baseball bat and a well-oiled glove for all my baseball games. My father hasn’t taken one moment for himself in the last 23 years. His devotion and love for his sons and granddaughters is astonishing. As a teenager my father had a hard time controlling my wild streaks. However, he never failed to pick me up when I was feeling down and he always seemed to find twenty dollars for me to attend the high school dance. (Even if his shoes were so torn up that they allowed the snow and cold in.) This man always placed my needs above his own.
When I turned 18 years old, I married my high school sweetheart and we had a family. Since that time my father has devoted every moment of his life to ensuring his granddaughters always have what they need. For example in March of 2004, I was deployed to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom. During my deployment my father sold basically everything he owned and moved down to our little base town to help my wife take care of our two daughters. His sacrifices for me and his family are unsurpassed by anyone in this world.
Basically the point of this letter is to ask you to please help me pay my father back with this once in a lifetime dream hunt. My father hasn’t hunted since I was born and I think it’s time for him to relive some of the memories he had as a child by hunting with me. So please please help me pay my father back for his years of devotion and dedication. Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you.”
