“I would love to call my best friends up and say, ‘Hey, I think the four of us should go to Montana to hunt elk and deer this year.’ So with Chris, Mark and Brian on a confrence call this is what it would sound like...
Chris: “Sounds right on!”
Brian: ‘MONTANA!’ ‘I don’t have the money to fly my ass all the way to BFE and hang out for two weeks, and listen to Chris talk sh-- about how everyone shoots all his ammo on every trip!’
Mark: ‘Heheheh’
Mark: ‘Seriously though. We need to plan a trip like this so we can all save up the funds. I know Stacy isn’t going to say it’s all right to just go and spend a little of the kids college money.’
Me: ‘Well I think we should just go. Did I forget to mention that the trip is all paid for?’
Everyone: ‘WHAT THE H---! NO WAY!’
Brian: ‘Dave, when did you start smokin that stuff!?!?’
Everyone: ‘Hehehe’
Brian: ‘Dave, I know you’re a little messed up in the head but you gotta wake up!’
Chris: ‘Hold on everyone, I can’t hear Dave. So what are you talking about man?’
Me: ‘All right, tell me if this sounds good. We all meet up in Montana in the end of October for rifle season. Bring your rifles and some wool gear and lots of socks. Oh, and fishing gear. You never know when you might run across a river with some healthy trout. Anyway, we will hook up with some packhorses and ride into the high country. We will take along a guide, tent, cots for all of us, cast iron, dried goods and a few cigars. Once we get back into the Bitteroots a little while from civilization, we can spend a day setting up base camp. That night we will sit around the campfire and talk about where to go in the morning. We can spend the next two weeks fishing, hunting and living in the mountains away from everyone and everything. Sound good to you guys?’
Everyone: ‘Yeah, sounds freaking bad-ass!’
Brian: “Dave. I don’t know how to wrangle cattle and ride horses. How in the hell do you think I am supp…’
Me: ‘Brian, Shut up dude! All you have to do is hold on man. Trust me.’
Brian: ‘All right, but if I get my ass bucked off I’m coming after you for putting me on that animal!’
Me: ‘Right on man. Hehehe’

My friends are more like brothers to me. I don’t have a lot of family, so these guys are my family. I would do anything for these guys and they have all been there for me for anything I needed. I would love to do something for them to repay all the great things they have done for me that they have never asked for a thing in return. My boys are the best I could ever ask for. This would be my dream hunt.”
